(Nasdaq:VRSO), a leading provider of next generation network solutions, announced today the global launch of the Verso Carrier InterConnect Solution, an integrated media and signaling VoIP gateway supported by the Verso Clarent(r) softswitch platform, targeting the wholesale and interconnect markets.
The new wholesale offering provides any-to-any voice network connectivity enabling the delivery of SIP services into legacy PRI, CAS and SS7 networks. The solution simplifies and streamlines Class 4 deployments and provides the ability to deploy PSTN to VoIP interconnections by packaging the media gateway, switching, routing, monitoring and reporting elements into a single solution that incrementally scales to meet customer growth and capacity needs.

The Verso Carrier InterConnect Solution includes key features needed to launch wholesale services. They include TDM to VoIP interconnect with high capacity TDM (PSTN) interfaces (DS-3, STM-1, T1, E1), key TDM protocols (SS7, PRI, CAS, R2), necessary VoIP protocol support such as SIP, SIP-T, and H.323, carrier grade routing, web-based access to reports and CDRs for a wholesale carrier's customers, and traffic reporting. These base capabilities can then be used to launch other value-added services including prepaid via the Verso I-Master solution and VoBB with the Verso MetroNet VoIP Overlay Solution.
