Microsemi Announces Highest Power Transistor for TCAS Avionics Transmitters


IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 14, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC), a leading manufacturer of high performance analog mixed signal integrated circuits and high reliability semiconductors, has introduced the industry's highest power transistor for TCAS avionics transmitters.

Designated the TCS1200, Microsemi's new Class C biased, bipolar transistor provides 1200 watts of output power at 1030MHz, with 32uS, 2% pulsing. It runs on 52 volts, making it easy to design with existing 50-52 volt TCAS power supplies. The die utilize gold metallization and integral emitter ballast resistors for maximum reliability.
