AquaBrowser Expands in North America With Addition of Dedicated New York-Based Direct Sales and Support Team

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - August 21, 2007) - AquaBrowser, the leading provider of visual faceted search technologies, today announced the expansion of its North American business development commitment with the addition of a dedicated sales and support force in the U.S.

The expansion of the company's direct sales and support team, based in New York City, will allow AquaBrowser to better service the vast number of existing customers as well as the ever-increasing number of sales leads in North America. This is the first in a series of investments toward international growth for AquaBrowser, following the purchase of its creator, Medialab Solutions, by Bowker.

The interest and attention on AquaBrowser has grown exponentially in the last year and the additional personnel in sales and support in North America will be tasked with the responsibility of meeting this sharp increase in demand. There are more than 130 library systems using AquaBrowser in the U.S. and Canada today, and an additional 250 libraries showing a strong interest to purchase AquaBrowser this year.

The new AquaBrowser team in North America will begin with two existing experts on the product. Jimmy Thomas, former Director of Strategic Products with The Library Corporation, will become the AquaBrowser Library Product Director, North America. Mr. Thomas is the expert on AquaBrowser in the U.S. and has given countless presentations for library systems and product spotlight showcases at ALA Conferences. Jimmy, who received his MLS in 1978, has been a library vendor professional for nearly 30 years. John Mihalick joins as AquaBrowser Sales Director, North America. Mr. Mihalick is a veteran of the library industry, having worked in a variety of sales and marketing roles in the library realm and in corporate business information systems. Both Jimmy and John step over from AquaBrowser exclusive distribution partner, The Library Corporation to lead the new North American Team.

Soon to be announced will be the addition of specialized technical support staff in the new U.S. office. This staff will guide and cater to all new AquaBrowser implementations in the U.S. and Canada.

"This expansion is a direct result of the incredible sales interest we see in the U.S. and Canada today," stated Medialab CEO Bastiaan Zwaan. "The new 'USA Team' will support our customers directly. The Medialab Amsterdam development team will stand behind the new North American team. The key players of the new team will become an integral part of the Medialab Amsterdam management team, closely working together with Bastiaan Zwaan; Jasper Kaizer, Vice President; and Taco Ekkel, Director of Development. With so many libraries adopting the world's best visual search system, this was the most logical step to take, and we are all very excited about it."

According to Zwaan, The Library Corporation will remain an external AquaBrowser distribution partner of Medialab in the U.S. and Canada. New AquaBrowser customers now have the choice to purchase AquaBrowser either directly through the new dedicated AquaBrowser team in the U.S., or through the proven services from The Library Corporation.
