DALLAS, Sept. 6, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Steinbrecher And Associates, a Dallas-based learning and consulting company, will offer its Heart-Centered Leadership Workshop on September 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas. The half-day workshop invites leaders to "lead from the inside out" through its seven principles and corresponding virtues.
The seven principles and corresponding virtues include, "Know Thyself: Commitment to Personal Growth," "They Need What You Need: Authenticity," and "Know Your Impact: Integrity/Foresight."
In this comprehensive workshop, managers explore what defines a good and bad leader, and the impact of each; review research that indicates how through a positive emotional climate, employees attitudes drive financial results; delve into the seven principles and virtues of a Heart-Centered leader and how to put them into action; share situations, insights, understandings and ideas with other leaders, and recognize how "personal choice" creates a leader who leaves a legacy.
According to the findings of the "2007 Deloitte & Touche USA LLP Ethics and Workplace" survey released earlier this month, it revealed the important impact management has in promoting ethical workplace behavior. Employed adults ranked the behavior of management and direct supervisors as the top two factors contributing to the promotion of an ethical workplace. Additionally, 60 percent of adults surveyed think that job dissatisfaction is a leading reason why people make unethical decisions at work.
"The Heart-Centered Leadership approach is a personal choice and involves the whole person: mind, body and spirit. Through the application of the seven underlying principles and virtues, leaders set out on a clear path where they are inspired to become a 'heart-centered' leader through the process of developing healthy attitudes and responsive actions needed to convert inspiration into reality," said Susan Steinbrecher, co-author of Heart-Centered Leadership: An Invitation to Lead from the Inside Out.
Steinbrecher added, "Our society has experienced leaders who are ethically bankrupt and disconnected from the emotional needs of employees. Heart-Centered Leadership offers a unique perspective on how inward, mindful striving to do the right thing and be the best you can be yields leaders with integrity and who are responsive to their employees' needs and therefore, achieve even stronger financial results. When you take care of your employees they take care of your customers who in turn take care of profitability."
In 2006, the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center on Lake Grapevine first introduced the Heart-Centered Leadership program to several hundred managers, and in the summer of 2007, invited Steinbrecher back to train additional managers.
"This is a wonderful training that is so relevant to our mission and helps us get to the next level in our leadership," said John Imaizumi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Gaylord Texan Resort.
