Volume of transshipments at Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd exceeds already 9 million tons this year

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd, the subsidiary of the joint stock company
Ventspils nafta, has handled already 9.1 million tons of crude oil and
petroleum products in the eight months of 2007, which is by 5 million tons more
than in a respective period in 2006. Crude oil and petroleum products cargos
are delivered to Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd by rail and sea, as well as via
diesel pipeline. 

During eight months this year, Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd was mainly
transshipping diesel fuel (6.6 million tons) delivered by rail and via
petroleum products pipeline. From January to August 2007, transshipment volume
of gasoline of various grades transported by rail reached 1.3 million tons, and
1.2 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products delivered by sea were
handled, as well. Crude oil (0.7 million tons) accounted for the highest
proportion of sea cargos. 

In August Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd handled 1.2 million tons of crude oil
and petroleum products: 0.9 million tons of diesel fuel delivered by rail and
via pipeline, 0.1 million tons of gasoline transported by rail and 0.2 million
tons of crude oil and petroleum products received by sea. 

At the beginning of 2007 Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd successfully started
reception of diesel via petroleum products pipeline, and during this year has
promoted cooperation with the international oil transport and trading
consortium Vitol Group being a shareholder of JSC Ventspils nafta and co-owner
of Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd within its global framework. 
 
Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is a subsidiary of JSC Ventspils nafta. 51% of it
belongs to JSC Ventspils nafta while 49% are owned by the Vitol's company
Euromin Holdings Cyprus Limited. The terminal renders transit services:
reception of oil and diesel fuel via pipelines, as well as reception, storage
and transshipment of crude oil, diesel fuel, motor gasoline and other petroleum
products delivered by rail and sea. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is the largest of such companies in the region,
and its crude oil and petroleum products shore-tank farm reaches 1.2 million
cubic metres and has no analogues among similar companies in the nearest
countries.
