Three Community Colleges Add CruiserAlert(TM) to Their Campus Emergency Plans

Ocean County College, Western Iowa Technical Community College, and Westmoreland County Community College Select CruiserAlert(TM) for High-Priority Campus Communications

FAIRFIELD, NJ--(Marketwire - October 1, 2007) - Timecruiser Computing Corporation today announced that three of its CampusCruiser® clients have selected CruiserAlert™ to deliver critical news and direction to students, faculty and staff in an emergency. Ocean County College in New Jersey, Western Iowa Technical Community College in Iowa, and Westmoreland County Community College in Pennsylvania, have all added CruiserAlert to their CampusCruiser portal.

A new, Web-based notification service, CruiserAlert gives administrators the ability to reach people on and off campus in an urgent situation. In addition to broadcasting information via SMS text message to mobile devices, the service simultaneously directs the message to email and RSS feeds. Voice messaging will be available in an upcoming release. For each channel they subscribe to, faculty, students, and staff select their preferred methods of delivery. Because all three institutions use CampusCruiser, their alerts will also be delivered as portal-wide announcements.

"Urgent situations that arise will require different modes of communication, so it is important that we have a variety of modes at our fingertips -- ranging from older methods to technology-based options," said Dr. James McGinty, Vice President of Instructional Technologies, Ocean County College. "We expect Cruiser Alert to be a pivotal component for immediate, multilayered emergency communication with our students and staff. CruiserAlert adds yet another vital service to our CampusCruiser portal."

In the event of a crisis, colleges can now reach their key publics quickly and directly. To activate an alert, administrators simply type a message and send it with just one click. CruiserAlert provides real-time reports providing college administrators with critical alert status information, subscriber details, usage data, and alert history.

"The need for high-priority communication channels on campus has never been clearer than it is today," said Allen Wang, president, Timecruiser Computing Corporation. "CruiserAlert helps users like Ocean County College, Western Iowa Technical Community College, and Westmoreland County College deliver a consistent message with a definitive course of action in minutes."
