SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - October 2, 2007) - Leading UHF Gen 2 radio frequency
identification (RFID) technology supplier Impinj, Inc. today announced
support for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2. Impinj, in collaboration with
Microsoft, added support for the Speedway reader using EPCglobal's Low
Level Reader Protocol (LLRP) to give Microsoft's partners and users
"plug-and-play" access to the rich capabilities and performance of the
Speedway reader through BizTalk Server 2006 R2.
Impinj has successfully deployed the Speedway reader -- the first LLRP
reader compatible with BizTalk Server's RFID capabilities -- in large
manufacturing, distribution and retail environments worldwide. The Speedway
reader provides a single RFID platform for applications at the pallet,
case, and item level, and delivers best-in-class read reliability and
throughput. The addition of BizTalk Server 2006 R2 support extends the
Speedway reader's performance and functionality benefits to enterprises
using Microsoft's real-time business processes for RFID supply chain
management and distribution.
"The inclusion of Impinj's Speedway reader as a supported device for
BizTalk Server 2006 R2 makes deployment of RFID even easier for
enterprises," said Anush Kumar, senior product manager, Microsoft Corp.
"The integration of LLRP and BizTalk Server combines the benefits of
proven, standards-based RFID reader technology with real-time business
processes so customers can leverage intelligent and reliable RFID data from
the 'Dock-Door to Front-Door.'"
The Impinj Speedway Device Provider for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2
will be broadly available in late 2007 as part of Impinj's release of the
reader's Octane 3.0 firmware upgrade. More information about the Speedway
reader and BizTalk Server 2006 R2 is available at
