"O ROKR(tm) PRO blends the freedom and mobility of wireless Bluetooth(r) technology with a sport-inspired, sweat-resistant frame engineered to meet the training demands of professional athletes," said Colin Baden, president, Oakley, Inc. "This is the latest advance in our market-leading position of combining the benefits of today's breakthroughs in electronics with the performance of the world's best optics. By seamlessly integrating some of the finest technologies that Oakley and Motorola have ever created, we have achieved the perfect solution for active lifestyles," Baden concluded.

"Motorola Bluetooth(r) technology empowers life on the go, and this fully integrated design puts that power into something you're already wearing," said Jason Few, vice president and General Manager, Motorola Companion Products, Mobile Device business. "The comfortably lightweight design lets you stay connected to calls and music while hiking, biking and doing virtually any activity where cords and wires get in the way. All that freedom is combined with world-class optical performance and protection, answering the promise of mobility for lives that never stand still," Few concluded.

Integrated Bluetooth Features

O ROKR PRO(tm) features state-of-the-art Motorola Bluetooth(r) 2.0 technology that provides a hands-free link to the user's compatible mobile phone and/or music storage device up to 33 feet (10 meters) away*. Multiple phone and music player functions can be accessed with buttons built into the frame. Integrated Bluetooth(r) Stereo technology offers the ability to wirelessly stream music from a compatible device such as an Apple iPod(r) equipped with an optional add-on Bluetooth(r) Stereo adapter. With a fully adjustable speaker for each ear, the user can control the balance of music and environment, and calls are easier to hear because the sound is more natural.

The Motorola Bluetooth(r) 2.0 technologies of O ROKR(tm) PRO include Bluetooth(r) Handsfree and Headset profiles, as well as the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio Visual Remote Control Profile (AVRCP). Additionally, O ROKR(tm) PRO has Easy Pairing technology that greatly simplifies the process of wirelessly connecting to Bluetooth(r) devices. An integrated rechargeable battery offers up to 100 hours of standby time(1).

Optical Performance and Protection

The semi-rimless frame design means there is no lower rim to block downward view, and Oakley's XYZ Optics(r) maximizes clarity at all angles of vision. It's just one of the patented innovations of HDO(r), a collection of Oakley technologies that combine to surpass ANSI Z87.1 standards for optical clarity and precision. The interchangeable lenses of O ROKR(tm) PRO allow the wearer to adapt to virtually any environment, and performance is optimized with the smudge-resistant clarity of Oakley Hydrophobic(tm) lens coating that repels water, skin oils and dust. Pure Plutonite(r) lens material filters out 100% of all UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light up to 400nm, and the lens/frame combination meets all ANSI Z87.1 protection standards for impact resistance. As an added option, Oakley Rx technology can match the frame with prescription lenses.

Pricing and Availability

Customers can purchase O ROKR(tm) PRO at Oakley's own retail locations including O Stores and Sunglass Icon, sunglass specialty locations, and online at www.hellomoto.com and www.oakley.com for US$249. The product will initially be offered in two frame/lens color combinations: Polished Black with Grey lenses and Polished White with Blue Iridium(r) lenses.
