Pershing LLC Named Winner of Technology Managers Forum Award
Information Builders' Customer Takes "Best Practices in IT" Award for Its Service-Level Dashboard
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 16, 2007) - Information Builders, the leader in production
business intelligence (BI)
solutions, today announced that Pershing LLC, a long-standing customer that
has demonstrated innovative use of Information Builders' WebFOCUS
technology, was named the winner of the 2007 "Best Practices in IT" award
from the Technology Managers Forum. The Best Practice Awards program is
particularly distinguished by the caliber of its judging panel, which
features practicing Fortune 500 IT managers.
Pershing used WebFOCUS to create a service-level scorecard and BI dashboard that have become integral parts of the company's
sales and customer care processes. These BI applications allow investment
professionals to gauge their own performance by filtering and dynamically
viewing transaction data, and to identify problems in operational
processing that would not otherwise have been found. For example, one
metric provides transparent insight into the promptness of responding to
customer requests in various categories. Another metric lists the total
number of reopened requests. Both of these statistics offer insight into
the actual quality of Pershing's work.
Pershing also uses WebFOCUS to continuously improve their performance in
regards to their customers. This service-level management, Pershing
believes, provides a unique advantage over their competitors.
"Service excellence is a key foundation to Pershing's success," said Daniel
Cronin, assistant vice president, Pershing Technology Group. "When
prospects and customers see how clearly and completely we report on so many
business processes, they quickly recognize the confidence we have in our
ability to deliver our services."
According to Cronin, the BI information has led to a better and more
consistent client experience. During a recent five-month period, service
level performance rose from 98.5 to 99.3 percent across the firm, despite
an ever-increasing amount of transactions processed during that same
period.
In addition to analyzing historical data in a warehouse, Pershing's BI
environment can access data from the firm's operational systems to perform
real-time analytics, such as how many transactions are being requested, how
many have been processed, and how many are pending. More than 80 percent of
Pershing's investment professionals have adopted the new BI capabilities --
about 75,000 users total.
"Pershing is a great example of a company that has burst the bounds of
traditional BI and is sharing the benefits of operational business
intelligence with their customers, all 75,000 of them," said Gerald Cohen,
CEO of Information Builders.
The Best Practice Awards will be presented today at the Technology Managers
Forum's 14th annual conference, "TechForum's Security Forum: Emerging
Trends in Enterprise Security." The one-day, by invitation only conference
attracts senior-level technology managers from large enterprises. All
winners were chosen through nominations from organizations in the United
States, Europe, and Asia. To learn more about the Tech Forum awards and
