CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwire - October 24, 2007) - High Density Devices, a leading provider of
hardware-based hard drive encryption technology, today announced the
company will begin manufacturing the proprietary circuit for High Density
Devices' SecureD line of hard drive encryption in the United States. The
manufacturing facility, based in North Carolina, will manufacture and
bundle SecureD products with hardware components (e.g. hard drives),
package the bundled products with smart cards, and then ship them in
response to product orders.
"As High Density Devices expands into the U.S. market, it is important to
be able to manufacture large order volumes, ensure products are shipped
quickly, and provide a world-class manufacturing facility. By locating
manufacturing operations in North Carolina, it will be much easier to
satisfy those requirements," said Stein Aamot, CEO for High Density
Devices.
HDD will manufacture the full line of SecureD products for the U.S. market
from North Carolina. The specific form factors for the SecureD 256 bit
Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption are:
-- SecureD Desktop: a PCI card that works with any existing SATA hard
drive
-- SecureD Laptop: a completely integrated 2.5-inch 60GB hard drive
-- SecureD USB: an external 120GB drive that provides secure, portable
data storage and backup
The manufacturing facility is located in close proximity to High Density
Devices' United States headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
