AutoZone Asks Customers to Give Thanks

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 25, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- AutoZone is once again partnering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for the hospital's Thanks & Giving Campaign. AutoZone is kicking off their participation Thursday October 25th when Scott Wimmer, one of the driver's of the #21 AutoZone Chevrolet, tours the hospital.

This holiday season, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, along with celebrity friends, will join Marlo Thomas to encourage shoppers across the country to give thanks for the healthy kids in their lives, and to give to those who are not, with the hope that someday all children will be healthy. This is the second year AutoZone has participated in the program.

Shoppers can stop by any AutoZone store in the continental United States and make a donation to St. Jude's Thanks & Giving program. Every penny you donate at AutoZone goes directly to St. Jude Children's Research Program. Campaign funds give the gift of hope to children facing deadly diseases along with benefiting the breakthrough discoveries that lead to life-saving cures. And 85 percent of every dollar St. Jude Children's Research Hospital receives goes directly to research and treatment. No child is ever turned away because of a family's inability to pay.

AutoZone will take donations in stores from October 25-December 31, 2007.

Also on Saturday, October 27, the #21 AutoZone Chevrolet will have a new look in support of the Hospital. St. Jude patient McKenzie O'Hara designed the paint scheme for the #21 AutoZone Chevrolet. The AutoZone car will sport a "pink" theme with hearts for the Sam's Town 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park. The new look is part of St. Jude's Design a Dream program.

Be sure to stop by AutoZone and make a donation to the Thanks & Giving Program and tune-in to see the #21 AutoZone Chevrolet's special look for the Sam's Town 250.
