(Press Release)
Kemira's new Asian Technology Center for pulp and paper industry has started its operations in Shanghai. The new Asian Technology Center is an important link in Kemira's R&D network that now serves customers globally. In addition to the Asian Technology Center, Kemira's R&D network covers already Europe and America.
Kemira Pulp&Paper is ramping up its R&D operations in Asia and especially in China to efficiently serve its customers by providing solutions for the local needs. Our products and services are aimed, first and foremost, at ensuring improved efficiency and profitability for our customers.
A local presence is essential, because raw materials and paper and board requirements vary regionally. Especially in Asia, the fiber raw materials consist of recycled fiber, wood fiber and non-wood fiber setting different requirements on the application of our chemistry platform.

Collaboration with universities and research institutes in key markets around the world also forms an important part of our R&D effort, states Johan Grön, Vice President, R&D and Technology, Kemira Pulp&Paper.
