CRAMO ACQUIRES TWO ACCESS RENTAL COMPANIES IN CENTRAL SWEDEN Cramo Sverige AB, the Swedish wholly-owned subsidiary of Cramo Plc, has acquired the entire share capital of two rental companies, Kumla Lift AB and Hyrcenter i Skövde AB, with estimated combined sales in 2007 totalling EUR 3.15 million (SEK 30 million) and eleven employees. Kumla Lift and Hyrcenter i Skövde both specialize in access equipment rental. The rental fleet contains a wide range of approximately 360 modern, well-maintained aerials of well-known brands. Operations are based in Kumla and Skövde, Sweden, and have a staff of six and five people respectively. All personnel are offered continued employment once the operations are merged into the Cramo organization. "The regional acquisition is of strategic importance in the region, where it will give us a market leadership position in access rental - a position we already hold in Sweden overall," says Magnus Rosén, Senior Vice President of Scandinavia at Cramo. "It's a well-run operation with excellent customer relations, and a strong management that will stay on for the foreseeable future." "In the relatively mature Nordic rental market, our strategy is to grow through a balanced combination of organic growth coupled with small or mid-sized acquisitions. Obviously, acquisitions are particularly interesting in regions where we need to strengthen our position in terms of geographic presence or a specific product group. This acquisition is a good example of the latter, and a direct response to the customer needs in the area," continues Magnus Rosén.
