Each year, at its annual award gala, the United States Council for
International Business (USCIB) presents its International Leadership Award
to a senior business executive who has made a significant contribution to
world trade, finance and investment, and to improving the global framework
in which American business operates.
This year 's recipient of the USCIB award is H. Fisk Johnson, Ph.D.,
chairman and CEO of S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc., in recognition of his -- and
his company's -- longstanding commitment to expanding global commerce and
promoting corporate sustainability.
A top representative of the United Nations is expected to provide remarks
at the dinner, which will be attended by some 300 USCIB members,
representatives of the diplomatic community and invited guests. More
information on the event is available at www.uscibgala.com.
Recent recipients of the USCIB award include Terry McGraw of McGraw-Hill,
Lee Raymond of ExxonMobil, Jean-René Fourtou of Vivendi Universal and Chad
Holliday of DuPont. Mr. Johnson is the first leader of a privately held
company to be so honored.
Advance registration by the media is strongly recommended.
USCIB promotes an open system of global commerce. Its membership includes
more than 300 leading U.S. companies, professional services firms and
associations whose combined annual revenues exceed $3.5 trillion. As
American affiliate of the leading international business and employers
organizations, USCIB provides business views to policy makers and
regulatory authorities worldwide and works to facilitate international
trade. More information is available at www.uscib.org.
