WHAT: AAA Texas will present Representative Joe Driver with AAA's
Legislator of the Year Award at the Garland Chamber of Commerce
luncheon next week.
WHEN: Monday, December 10, 2007 at 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: The AAA Texas award presentation will take place at the Granville
Arts Center, on 300 North Fifth Street in Garland, Texas.
WHY: "Representative Driver is a champion of issues that improve the
safety and mobility of Texas motorists," said Mark Bell, Regional
Vice President for AAA Texas. "Through the years, Representative
Driver has sponsored legislation that tackles important traffic
safety issues including teen graduated driver license laws. AAA
Texas looks forward to continuing to work with Representative
Driver on these important issues."
Representative Driver said, "I am honored to receive this
recognition from AAA Texas acknowledging the many traffic safety
issues I have sponsored over the years. I appreciate AAA Texas'
commitment to supporting bills that improve the safety of Texans
traveling on our roadways."
AAA Texas has supported Representative Driver's efforts to pass
traffic safety legislation including the Representative's teen
graduated driver licensing bill, red light camera enforcement
legislation and proposals to improve the child passenger safety
seat law.
Driver has served in the Texas legislature for almost 15 years
representing District 113 which includes residents of Garland,
Rowlett and Sachse.
