Volume of transshipments at Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd has reached 12.2 million tons in 11 months

In 11 months of 2007, volume of transshipments at Ventspils nafta termināls
Ltd, a subsidiary of the joint stock company Ventspils nafta, has already
reached 12.2 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products. In comparison
with the respective period of 2006, the volume of transshipments at Ventspils
nafta termināls Ltd has increased by 7 million tons this year. Crude oil and
petroleum products cargos are transported to the terminal by rail, sea and via
diesel pipeline.

From January to November 2007, Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd was mainly
transshipping diesel fuel (8.6 million tons) delivered by rail and via
petroleum products pipeline. Transshipment volume of gasoline of various grades
transported by rail has already exceeded 1.6 million tons this year. In 11
months of 2007, 1.7 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products delivered
by sea were handled, as well. Crude oil (1 million tons) accounted for the
highest proportion of sea cargos.

The volume of transshipments in the terminal is increasing since the beginning
of the year, and this can largely be explained by full involvement of Vitol
Group, a shareholder of JSC Ventspils nafta and co-owner of Ventspils nafta
termināls Ltd, in activities of the company.

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is a subsidiary of JSC Ventspils nafta. 51% of it
belongs to JSC Ventspils nafta while 49% are owned by the Vitol's company
Euromin Holdings (Cyprus) Limited. The terminal renders transit services:
reception of oil and diesel fuel via pipelines, as well as reception, storage
and transshipment of crude oil, diesel fuel, motor gasoline and other petroleum
products delivered by rail and sea.

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is the largest of such companies in the region,
and its crude oil and petroleum products shore-tank farm reaches 1.2 million
cubic metres and has no analogues among similar companies in the nearest
countries.
