GARLAND, TX--(Marketwire - December 19, 2007) - State Representative Joe Driver is the recipient of the AAA Texas Legislator of the Year Award.

In accepting the award, Representative Driver said, "I am honored to receive this recognition from AAA Texas acknowledging the many traffic safety issues I have sponsored over the years. Driver has served in the Texas legislature for almost 15 years representing District 113 which includes residents of Garland, Rowlett and Sachse. This is the first time AAA Texas has presented the Legislator of the Year Award. The annual award is to recognize a local, state or federal government official who has shown great support of issues important to AAA Texas.

The AAA Texas award presentation took place at the Granville Arts Center, on 300 North Fifth Street in Garland, Texas on Monday, December 10, 2007.
