Nordea receives refund from the Finnish deposit guarantee system

Following a decision by the Finnish parliament Nordea will in its
full year result for 2007 include an income of slightly in excess of
EUR 100m, representing a refund from the Finnish deposit guarantee
system. This follows a decision by the parliament, subject to a
confirmation by the president of the republic, to pay back the funds
in the former deposit guarantee fund dissolved in 1998 to the
participating banks.

A new deposit guarantee fund was established in 1998. The annual fee
that Nordea will pay according to the rules in the new, and now
revised, system will not change in any material way compared to the
historical fees.

The non-recurring revenue will be accounted for on the line "Other
income".
