Law Enforcement Associates' 12-Month Sales of New GPS Surveillance Product Exceeded $1 Million; Recent Order Activity Gives Company Early Momentum in 2008

YOUNGSVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - January 3, 2008) - Law Enforcement Associates Corporation
(LEA) (AMEX : AID ), the largest U.S. developer and manufacturer of
undercover surveillance equipment, today announced it sold approximately
135 of its Birddog™ GPS tracking systems subsequent to the product's
introduction in the first quarter of 2007. Total value of Birddog orders
within the last 12 months was more than $1 million.
LEA also said it has experienced a recent surge of orders for various
products that should ship in the first quarter of 2008. Recent sales
activity includes an order for 35 newly designed covert surveillance
devices being purchased by the intelligence unit of a major city in the
northeastern United States. In recent days, LEA also has received more
than $150,000 in orders for various surveillance products from several
police departments in California.
"Revenue from our Birddog systems will likely amount to more than 10
percent of total sales during fiscal 2007," said Paul Feldman, president.

development team and the efforts of our sales staff to quickly penetrate
