Boston Intellectual Property Law Firm Promotes Teja, Trevisan


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - January 9, 2008) - Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C., the largest firm in New England devoted exclusively to intellectual property law, named Joseph Teja, Jr. and Maryanne Trevisan, Ph.D., shareholders. This brings the total number of shareholders to 29 in the firm of 75 attorneys and technology specialists.

Formerly counsel with the firm, Teja has advised clients with complex IP portfolios including hundreds of patent applications. A member of the firm's ECT Group, his expertise includes patents for optoelectronic devices and optical communications, analog and digital circuits, electronic devices, semiconductor design and fabrication, and telecommunications.

Before receiving his law degree from Suffolk University Law School, Teja had more than 10 years' experience as a researcher and engineer in electronics and optics.

After graduating from Rutgers University with degrees in electrical engineering and Italian literature, Teja received his master's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT. He's been named a Massachusetts "Rising Star" in IP law.

Promoted from associate, Trevisan is a member of the firm's Biotechnology Group, helping clients obtain patent protection in the areas of biotechnology, hematology, bone-marrow transplantation, molecular and cellular biology, and gene therapy.

Trevisan was awarded a Terry Fox Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the National Cancer Institute of Canada to pursue her post-doctoral fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she studied the hemopoietic profile of mice lacking the ikaros protein.

She received her bachelor's degree in molecular biology and genetics and her Ph.D. from the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto and her law degree from Suffolk University Law School. Trevisan has been named a Massachusetts "Rising Star" in intellectual property law.
