PGS - Svein Rennemo to retire 1 April 2008


January 16, 2008: Oslo, Norway, Petroleum Geo-Services ASA ('PGS' or the 'Company') has earlier announced that Svein Rennemo, President and CEO of PGS, will retire from PGS in the second quarter of 2008 in accordance with his contract. This will in practice take place 1 April 2008.
 
Svein Rennemo is by the nominating committee of StatoilHydro nominated as the new chair of the board of directors. If Mr. Rennemo is elected, he will enter the position as chair of the board of directors of StatoilHydro when he has retired from PGS.
