Kazeon Receives "Positive" Rating in Leading Analyst Firm's eDiscovery and Litigation Support Marketscope Report

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - January 23, 2008) - Kazeon Systems, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent eDiscovery solutions, today announced that Gartner has rated Kazeon "Positive" in Gartner, Inc.'s inaugural "MarketScope for E-Discovery and Litigation Support Vendors, 2007," published December 14, 2007. The report, authored by Debra Logan, states, "Enterprises purchasing e-discovery software can reduce the costs of litigation by improving their control over unstructured content, including e-mail. Also, they can cut costs and risks by taking control of litigation hold, litigation hold-tracking, file collection, file processing and legal review instead of outsourcing these functions."

Kazeon revolutionizes the way companies perform eDiscovery in-house by using Information Access technology to intelligently search, classify and act on electronically stored information. Kazeon provides a full spectrum of proactive and reactive eDiscovery solutions in response to litigation, information security and privacy, corporate investigations, regulatory compliance and storage consolidation requirements. The Kazeon Information Server software automates eDiscovery functions from identification through processing, first-pass review and analysis.

Kazeon recently introduced Version 3 of the Information Server and Information Center product lines. Version 3 contains several industry firsts, including targeted Single Step Collection, native connectivity to live Microsoft Exchange servers, integrated eMail threading for first-pass review and analysis, and federated searching, reporting and management for distributed enterprises. According to a recent ESG Lab test, Kazeon Version 3 provides an industry-leading cost per gigabyte of $4.30 to process ESI in preparation for eDiscovery matters. This compares favorably to the industry standard of $1500-$2000 per gigabyte of current solutions. Given the fact that companies are looking to bring eDiscovery functions in-house in order to achieve higher relevancy, more predictable costs and faster discovery turnaround, Kazeon's Information Server has been specifically designed to enable companies to significantly shorten the time it takes to identify, collect, process and analyze electronically stored information (files and eMail), thereby curtailing unnecessary eDiscovery costs. Kazeon version 3 capabilities enable companies in every industry sector to use the Information Server to lower everyday eDiscovery management costs by up to 80 percent.

The Gartner report also stated, "Changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure in December 2006 forced many enterprises specifically to evaluate their ability to manage unstructured information. Many have concluded they need to improve -- and quickly."

Gartner also comments in a July 2007 report, "Choosing an E-Discovery Solution in 2007 and 2008," "A key differentiator in the e-discovery market will be a vendor's ability to identify, collect and process data for discovery. This gives the information access and search vendors a strong play."(1)

Kazeon appears in both Gartner reports, the "MarketScope for E-Discovery and Litigation Support Vendors, 2007" and the "Magic Quadrant for Information Access Technology, 2007."

"In my opinion, the positive rating by Gartner is confirmation of Kazeon's expanding position in the eDiscovery, information security and compliance marketplaces," said Steven d'Alencon, Kazeon vice president of product marketing. "Kazeon is one of the few eDiscovery vendors to use Information Access technology to provide both reactive and proactive eDiscovery solutions using the same underlying Information Access technology platform. This approach helps companies achieve higher relevancy, more predictable costs and faster turnaround."
