PremierWest Bank Offers Free Coin Counting Via Coinstar in Branches

MEDFORD, Ore. and BELLEVUE, Wash., Jan. 29, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- PremierWest Bancorp (Nasdaq:PRWT) and Coinstar, Inc. (Nasdaq:CSTR) announced today that customers of PremierWest Bank will soon be able to turn their coin into cash in a matter of minutes at 20 of the bank's full service offices in Oregon and Northern California with the Madison coin-counting kiosk from Coinstar. "Our customers have been asking for a coin-counting service for years and technology has finally allowed us to fulfill their request," stated Jim Ford, President of PremierWest Bank. Ford went on to say, "These coin-counting kiosks will provide another convenient service to both consumer and business customers throughout our territory."

The Coinstar(r) coin-counting kiosks installed in the bank lobby at select PremierWest Bank locations make it easy for customers to turn their coins into cash. Users simply pour their loose, unsorted change into the kiosk tray, and the machine automatically counts the change. When completed, a voucher is dispensed that the customer brings to a teller window to receive the full coin value in the form of currency, or deposit into their account. This service will be free to PremierWest Bank consumers and non-customers will pay a service fee of 8% if they elect not to open an account.

"PremierWest Bank is a forward-thinking, customer-oriented bank, and we're very pleased that they will be offering our Madison kiosk," said Alex Camara, senior vice president and general manager of worldwide coin at Coinstar, Inc. "By offering our coin-counting service at no charge to customers, PremierWest not only increases traffic into the branch, but has the ability to attract new customers, enhance existing relationships and build loyalty among its customer base."

Coinstar kiosks at PremierWest Bank also offer a Coin to eCertificate option and a donation feature. To receive an eCertificate from national retailers such as Amazon.com, iTunes, and Eddie Bauer, users go through the same process as they would for a coins-to-cash transaction, with the exception of going to a teller window. A redemption code printed on the voucher for the full coin value allows users to make purchases online right away. For charitable donations, the customer receives a receipt for the tax-deductible donation.

The Coinstar coin counting kiosks will be installed at the following locations:
