According to a press release published February 14 2008 the Board of ABB Ltd (ABB) proposes that the AGM, which will be held on May 8, approves an ordinary dividend of 0.48 CHF. The dividend will be in form of a nominal value reduction. According to Rules and Regulations of OMX Derivatives Markets 4.5.3.6 adjustments should not be made for ordinary dividends. According to 4.5.3.10 in the above mentioned Rules, however, adjustment should be made if the share capital in the company, the share which constitutes the Contract Base, be decreased through a repayment to the shareholders.
As ABB clearly refers to the dividend as ordinary and since the dividend is a part of the dividend policy, OMX Derivatives Markets will not adjust options and futures in ABB in reference to the dividend and has received approval from the Stockombudsman.
