OMX The Nordic Exchange, Copenhagen Nikolaj Plads 6 DK-1007 Copenhagen K 3 March 2008 Release no. 2 Nilfisk-Advance makes new US acquisition With the acquisition on 1 March 2008 of the American company HydraMaster, a manufacturer of truck-mounted carpet cleaners, Nilfisk-Advance has strengthened both its position as a supplier to the professional cleaning market and its range of indoor cleaning equipment. By agreement with the seller the purchase price will not be disclosed. The addition of HydraMaster, which follows in the wake of last year's acquisition of the company U.S. Products, is an element in Nilfisk-Advance's strategy of product and market expansion in North America. With the acquisition of HydraMaster, the Nilfisk-Advance Group has strengthened its focus on carpet and upholstery cleaning, an area in which the company has now established itself among the dominant equipment suppliers. HydraMaster is a 40-year-old private-owned company with a product portfolio that includes equipment, accessories and articles for the cleaning and maintenance of carpets, upholstery, and other fabric surfaces. The company has been especially innovative in developing high quality truck mounted cleaners. Established in 1969, HydraMaster subsequently - in 1985 and 1998 - acquired three other US suppliers of similar equipment, and today employs some 120 people at its headquarters in Mukilteo, Washington. HydraMaster recorded revenue of 24.2 mUSD (120 mDKK) in 2007 and is a commercially successful business. It is planned to continue developing and marketing the company's products under the HydraMaster brand, and also to continue manufacturing these products at the Mukilteo plant. However, coordination will take place at managerial level with the sister company, U.S. Products, in Idaho. Read more about HydraMaster at www.hydramaster.com. No form of restructuring measures are planned following the acquisition of HydraMaster, but a number of interesting synergies are expected due to the harmonisation of activities with U.S. Products. The financial expectations linked to the acquisition of HydraMaster will be included in Nilfisk-Advances/NKT's expectations for 2008, which will be published in NKT's annual report 2007 on 5 March 2008. Nilfisk-Advance is a world leading supplier of professional cleaning equipment. As a result of a string of acquisitions over the years, Nilfisk-Advance today commands a very broad range of products marketed under a number of well-known brand names. In addition to Nilfisk and Advance, these brands include American Lincoln, Kent, Clarke, American Sanders, Electrolux, Nilfisk-ALTO and Nilfisk-CFM, plus the recent acquisitions U.S.Products, Viper and now also HydraMaster. Nilfisk-Advance has close to 5,000 employees and an annual turnover of around 5.8 bnDKK. The company is headquartered in Brøndby, Denmark, and has production subsidiaries in Europe, North America and Asia, where the majority of its 36 sales subsidiaries are located.
