NCC to repair Söderled Tunnel in Stockholm for SEK 215 million

NCC to repair Söderled Tunnel in Stockholm for SEK 215 million

NCC Construction Sweden will now commence Phase Two of the repairs on the
Söderled Tunnel. The client is Stockholm City and the order is valued at SEK 215
million.

The repairs to the Söderled tunnel started in June 2007. The concrete structure
in the southern part of the northbound tunnel have been repaired and
supplemented. At the same time, the existing electricity and ventilation
installations as well as the tunnel have received fire-protection finishes.

NCC has now signed an agreement to execute the same type of work, on a larger
scale, to the northern half of the same tunnel.

“The project is a major challenge since most of the work will be implemented
during the 13 summer weeks when the northbound tunnel tube will be closed for
traffic,” says Fredrik Söderholm, Business Manager at NCC.

Between June 13 and September 15 this year, the southbound tunnel tube will be
used for two-way traffic.

The project will employ a maximum of 140 people.

The order will be registered in the first quarter of 2008.
