-- In February, Narus announced NarusInsight Secure Suite 6 (NSS 6), the
industry's first carrier-class security system designed to leverage the
scalability and management advantages of IBM BladeCenter (as well as space
and power efficiency inherent to blades). NSS 6 offers service provider and
government customers the ability to manage their system expansion
seamlessly and cost effectively by simply adding incremental modules of
blades.
-- Narus announced the NSS wireless module in March. The wireless module
is a mobile security product that detects and mitigates wireless-specific
attacks from various devices and at different levels of the network
architecture.
-- Narus unveiled NSS 7 in November. NSS 7 highlights advanced mitigation
options, including seamless integration with Cisco Guard™ DDoS
mitigation appliances.
-- In December, Narus announced the latest version of NarusInsight
Intercept Suite (NIS), which includes the industry's only network traffic
intelligence system that supports real-time precision targeting, capturing
and reconstruction of Webmail traffic.
A host of new customers and partners from around the world selected Narus
in 2007 in an effort to secure their IP networks, comply with government
regulations and save money. In September, Narus announced that Pakistan
Telecommunications Authority selected Narus to detect rogue VoIP traffic
flowing through the Pakistani telecommunications networks. By using Narus,
Pakistan's telecommunications networks expect to save millions of dollars a
year. Narus also formed key partnerships in Latin America, where IP traffic
security and intercept concerns have increased substantially over the past
several years.
Narus extended its global footprint further in June, when it announced the
opening of a new office to support its development and regional
headquarters. The office, located in Bangalore, is the central location for
Narus' India-based software development, sustaining engineering, quality
assurance, customer support, regional sales and professional services
teams. Thanks in part to the rapid increase in India's telecommunications
activity, Narus expects that it will see double-digit growth in traffic
intelligence purchases, including intercept, gray VoIP and network
security.
Rounding out Narus' exemplary year was the appointment of key Narus
executives. Narus welcomed Charles Picasso to its Board of Directors as
non-executive Chairman. Daniel McEntee was appointed vice president of
administration and CFO in February. Chuck Meyo was welcomed aboard in May
as vice president of global channels and Americas sales. Christopher Swan
became senior vice president of global sales and alliances in July, and
Yogi Mistry joined as senior vice president of worldwide engineering in
November.
"Narus has experienced tremendous growth over the last year. Our growth
continues to validate our traffic intelligence strategy. We remain
confident in the importance of helping our customers protect and manage
their large IP networks," said Greg Oslan, president and CEO, Narus.
