Amsterdam, April 8, 2008 – The share buyback of SMARTRAC N.V. has been
concluded. The buyback program started on February 4, 2008, and was
conducted via the stock exchange. SMARTRAC had authorised a bank to conduct
the share buyback.

In the course of the share buyback, an overall number of 220,170 shares
have been bought back at an average price of approximately EUR 34.06 per
share with a total value of EUR 7,499,762.22. This means that SMARTRAC
currently keeps under its own stock close to 2.14 percent of a total of
13,500,000 issued shares of the company. This includes shares from a
previous share buyback.

The SMARTRAC Management Board intends to utilise the shares from the
buyback in the context of acquisitions as well as for the company’s own
employee share programs.
