His appointment is in advance of the planned retirement of two members of the Supervisory Board of Directors in April 2009. The current chairman, Mr J.L. (Joep) Brentjens and Prof N.H. (Nico) Douben, current member of the Supervisory Board, are not eligible for reappointment at the next meeting of shareholders.
To ensure continuity, Mr Icke (51) was appointed today for a period of four years. He immediately stepped down from his position on the Board of Management at the Heijmans Preference Share Trust.
Ron Icke currently serves as Chairman and CEO of USG People N.V. He has worked for this listed temporary employment agency since 1995. Until November 2005 he held the position of CFO.
Ron Icke earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1986 and worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1977 to 1991. Mr Icke also serves as a member of the supervisory board of directors at Gropeco B.V.
With this appointment, the composition of the Supervisory Board of Directors of Heijmans N.V. is as follows: J.L. Brentjens, Chairman - J.L.M. Bartelds, CA - Prof N.H. Douben - R. Icke CA - A.A. Olijslager - S. van Keulen.
