Q-Industries Helps Build Webby-Honored Pew Forum's 'Religion & Politics '08' Website

Site Earns Two Distinctions in the 12th Annual Webby Awards

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - April 17, 2008) - The 12th Annual Webby Awards, which identify online excellence, have bestowed two awards on the Pew Forum's Religion & Politics '08 website; Official Honoree in the Religion & Spirituality category, and as one of five finalists for Best Politics Website of 2008. Q-Industries, a DC-based interactive firm that develops online brands and custom applications, helped produce the online resource, which features religious biographies, survey findings and must-read articles on all the major presidential candidates.

Described as "the Oscars of the Internet" by The New York Times, this year's Webby's contest received nearly 10,000 entries, from all 50 states and 60 countries. The Official Honoree distinction is awarded to work that scores in the top 15% of all work submitted for a Webby.

As part of a recent initiative to update the site, Q-Industries was engaged to provide web design, data integration and a content management system for Religion & Politics '08. Customized to share survey information, research, documents and articles with the public, the site's features include allowing users to compare summaries of the candidates' positions on issues such as abortion, gay marriage and the Iraq war, as well as Q&A discussions.

"Q is thrilled to contribute to a website that's informing the public on the important role of religion in this presidential campaign," said Tim Neill, CEO of Q-Industries. "The Pew Forum is renowned for the quality and insights of its research, and it's gratifying to help make that information even more accessible and valuable to its audiences."

Members of The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences will choose Webby Award winners in each category. Winners will be announced on May 6 and honored at a gala in New York City on June 10.

Nominees are also eligible to win the People's Voice Awards, which will be determined by online public voting in each category. Cast your vote here.
