HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - April 18, 2008) - The Texas average for a gallon of regular self serve gasoline topped a new all time record high this week at $3.33, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.

San Antonio has the lowest average on the list at $3.272, a new record for the area. Dallas tops the list at $3.35 a gallon, which is also a new record high.

"At $3.33 a gallon, the Texas average is one of the lowest in the U.S., with California having the highest average at $3.82 a gallon," said AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau. "AAA continues to encourage motorists to conserve fuel such as consolidating trips and errands and sticking to a routine maintenance schedule to achieve maximum fuel efficiency and extend the life of the vehicle."
