ROCKY MOUNT, NC--(Marketwire - April 18, 2008) - MDA announced today that Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc. has surpassed the $1 million level in giving to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This year's campaign of selling Shamrocks at Boddie-Noell restaurants raised over $300,000 for MDA which helped the company achieve $1 million in giving over the past 10 years. All of the Boddie-Noell-owned Hardee's, Texas Steakhouse & Saloon, Café Carolina & Bakery, Moe's Southwest Grill, and Highway Diner restaurant locations participated in the annual "Shamrocks Against Dystrophy" campaign this year.

"We are very appreciative of all our customers and employee efforts in supporting this extremely worthwhile cause," said Mike Boddie, president of the restaurant division for Boddie-Noell Enterprises. "We're proud to know that our contributions will help enable children in our local communities to attend MDA camp this year, and we're pleased to be associated with such a worthwhile organization that does great things in our communities."

Boddie-Noell Enterprises has 395 restaurant locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky participating in this annual fundraiser. This year's proceeds for the MDA will be one of the largest in the Carolinas and Virginia and will allow 375 children to go to MDA camp this year.

"For the past nine years, from top down and bottom up, Boddie-Noell executives and associates have been tremendous in their support of the MDA," said Todd Hermon, divisional vice president of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. "Their effort with Shamrocks is unparalleled in the communities that they do business. They are one of our top contributors each year."

The contributions will go to help with care for local children and adults affected by one of the 43 diseases for which the MDA provides treatment.
