WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - May 6, 2008) - King & Spalding announced today that Seth H.
Lundy, an experienced healthcare lawyer who concentrates on providing
regulatory counseling to medical technology companies and healthcare
providers and suppliers, has joined the firm as a partner in its nationally
recognized FDA/healthcare group. Lundy, who has more than 10 years'
experience in healthcare law, focuses on fraud and abuse counseling
(anti-kickback, Stark/self-referral and false claim laws), Medicare and
Medicaid reimbursement and healthcare compliance programs. He is resident
in the firm's Washington, D.C., office.
"Seth is a strong addition to our team," said John T. Bentivoglio, co-head
of King & Spalding's FDA/healthcare group. "He has a well-earned reputation
as a leading healthcare lawyer, and his experience advising medical
technology companies complements our large FDA regulatory practice."
Mark S. Brown, co-head of the firm's FDA/healthcare group, said, "Seth's
regulatory and compliance experience, coupled with the firm's substantial
litigation capabilities, further enhances our ability to handle the most
challenging legal and enforcement matters for FDA-regulated companies."
Before joining King & Spalding, Lundy was a partner with Fulbright &
Jaworski L.L.P., in Washington, D.C.
Lundy earned a B.A., cum laude, from Amherst College and a J.D., with
honors, from The George Washington University Law School.
"I am delighted to be joining King & Spalding's FDA/healthcare group. The
firm's reputation in the healthcare industry, particularly in the medical
device sector, its remarkably talented lawyers and its focus on growth
offer extraordinary opportunities for someone with my experience," Lundy
said.
King & Spalding bolstered its FDA/healthcare practice earlier this year
when it opened California offices in Silicon Valley and San Francisco that
focus, in part, on FDA/healthcare matters including pharmaceutical and
medical device product liability litigation.
King & Spalding's FDA/healthcare group consists of 38 attorneys and
non-attorney professional consultants who advise pharmaceutical, medical
device and biotechnology companies on FDA and healthcare regulatory issues,
compliance program development and implementation, internal investigations
and enforcement issues. More than a dozen members of this group served
previously as lawyers or consultants in various roles at the U.S. Food and
Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and U.S.
Department of Justice. King & Spalding represents more than 200
FDA-regulated companies, including 15 of the top 20 pharmaceutical
companies and 12 of the top 20 medical device companies.
