Filmmaker L.M. Kit Carson to Keynote MEFCON 2008

Renowned Screenwriter and Producer to Preview Clips From An Upcoming Documentary Shot Entirely On a Mobile Phone


LOS ANGELES, May 7, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) today announced that L.M. Kit Carson will deliver a keynote address at MEFCON 2008. An innovator at the intersection of mobile and entertainment, Carson will show clips from Africa Diary, a series of short videos shot entirely on a Nokia N93 camcorder phone. Carson is scheduled to speak at 9:00 a.m. on May 29, MEFCON takes place May 28-29 at the Marriott Marina Del Rey.

Slated to air on the Sundance Channel in the fall of 2008, Africa Diary is an emotional and newsworthy survey of current African nations and societies. Carson offers four diary entries per chosen country, focusing on issues pertaining to government, economy and citizenship. Carson is an award-winning screenwriter and producer for both independent and Hollywood studios. His screenwriting credits include Breathless, Perfume and cult classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. He also wrote the film adaptation of Paris, Texas, honored in festivals across the globe and winning the prestigious Palm d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. His producing credits include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Bottle Rocket, which is widely considered the launch of the star careers of Owen and Luke Wilson.
