Gunnar Már Sigurfinnsson has been appointed Managing Director of Icelandair Cargo, replacing Pétur J. Eiríksson. Gunnar Már has been SVP Sales & Marketing for Icelandair for the past three years. “Icelandair Cargo is a leading company in its field and it is a great opportunity for me to work with its excellent staff towards its future development. I would also like to thank my former colleagues at Icelandair for a great cooperation and wish my successor all the best”, says Gunnar Már Sigurfinnsson. “Gunnar Már has led the sales and marketing side of Icelandair successfully for the past years and it is important for Icelandair Group to be able to use his talents as the Managing Director for Icelandair Cargo, which faces challenges, considering the current economic uncertainties. We expect a lot of him in his new position”, says Björgólfur Jóhannson, CEO of Icelandair Group. Before becoming SVP Sales & Marketing of Icelandair, Gunnar Már was General Manager for Central-Europe, situated in Frankfurt and held various jobs for the company among them Sales Manager for Air Iceland. He is 43, has a Business Degree from University of Iceland, is married to Linda Hængsdóttir and has two children.
