Announcement No. 11-2008
22 May 2008
Danware appoints new Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Danware has appointed Kent Madsen as its new CTO. With the appointment we aim to
restore focus and innovation in Danware products and, as for the rest of the
organisation, Kent Madsen's job will be to ensure that Danware continues to turn
out products at the cutting edge of technology.
Kent Madsen, 44, has a solid track record from the IT industry and most recently
held the position as Technical Director of Cisco Systems in Denmark. Before
that, Kent Madsen worked for six years with the US IT company EMC, holding a
number of management positions and contributing to generating the growth
accomplished by EMC during that period. Prior to working with EMC, Kent Madsen
held a number of managerial positions with the Royal Danish Air Force.
Kent Madsen takes over the position from Ole Setnes, who has been CTO of Danware
since 2000 and who will stay on with the company as part of the management group
of the R&D department.
Kent Madsen originally trained as an officer of the line and has during his
career completed several competence-building supplementary programmes, including
courses at IMD in Switzerland.
Kent Madsen will take up his new position on 1 June 2008.
