ABN AMRO Preferred Banking Lounge at Schiphol now open to top clients of Fortis

Top clients of Fortis have been given access to the ABN AMRO Preferred Banking Lounge, a comfortable, full-service waiting room at Schiphol. The lounge has been open to ABN AMRO top clients since 2005. More than 15,000 people a year use the lounge's exclusive facilities.

Jeanine Helthuis, Member of the Board of Fortis Bank Netherlands and General Manager of Fortis Retail Banking Netherlands comments, "We are pleased to offer our customers this exclusive service. The lounge is the ideal place to do some last-minute business or relax while waiting for a flight. Sharing this facility is a good example of the added value customers are benefiting from as a result of the future integration of Fortis and ABN AMRO."

Jasper Schrijver, CEO of ABN AMRO Retail Banking Netherlands adds, "ABN AMRO has been offering banking products at Schiphol airport for more than fifty years. Our focus has always been on efficiency and a personal approach. The Preferred Banking Lounge is one of our newest assets, and we are delighted that we can extend our service to top Fortis clients."

ABN AMRO has operated branches at the airport since 1957. The service was originally limited to currency exchange, but has been expanded over the years. In addition to the Preferred Banking Lounge, the bank now has eight exchange offices and two branches at Schiphol, which handle more than two million transactions a year.

The Preferred Banking Lounge offers clients several conveniences, from a quiet, relaxed waiting room to free internet access to a drink. There is also a special Kids Corner. Clients can access the lounge using a special entrance card.

The lounge is located near the lounges of several airlines and other organisations, close to gates E and F, and is opposite Rijksmuseum Schiphol, in the non-Schengen part of the airport. The piers, gates, tax-free shops and other airport facilities are all within quick and easy reach. The Preferred Banking Lounge is open 16 hours a day, from 6 am to 10 pm.
