Auto Club Introduces WorldPoints(R) Rewards Visa(R) Card With Gas Purchase Promotion
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - July 9, 2008) - Consumers now have a new way to ease the
pain of record-high gas prices -- the Automobile Club of Southern
California has introduced a new points-reward credit card allowing them to
earn double points for each gas purchase they make at the pump for one
year.
The AAA Visa Signature credit card with WorldPoints Rewards has no annual
fee and allows cardholders to earn one point for every dollar spent. Points
can be redeemed for cash rewards, airline tickets, hotel rooms, or a wide
variety of other goods and services.
Also, new cardholders can earn double points (two points for every one
dollar spent) on all gasoline purchases they make at the pump using the
card during the first 12 billing cycles.
"At the Auto Club, we understand that our members are looking for value now
more than ever. This credit card offers great flexibility to our members
to choose many different types of rewards, including cash, travel and
merchandise," said Wendy Sabins, the Auto Club's Senior Vice President for
Marketing, Product Management and Publishing. "Especially beneficial to our
members is the fact that, unlike other similar credit cards, our
WorldPoints Rewards card does not have an annual cap or limit on the amount
of points the member can receive."
Auto Club members can apply for the credit card online at www.AAA.com, by
calling (866) 665-3581, or by visiting any of the Auto Club's 75 offices
throughout Southern California.
Current AAA Visa or AAA Mastercard® customers have the option to keep
their current card(s) and also request the AAA Visa Signature card with
WorldPoints Rewards, or request to convert to the new credit card only.
The Automobile Club of Southern California, the largest member of the AAA
federation of motor clubs, has been serving Southern California since 1900.
Today, the Auto Club's members benefit by roadside assistance, insurance
products and services, travel agency, financial products, automotive
pricing and buying programs, automotive testing and analysis, trip planning
services and highway and transportation safety programs. Information about
these products and services is available on the Auto Club's Web site at
www.AAA.com.
