California Bank of Commerce Launches Arts Collaborative With "Meeting and Passing": The Works of Geoff & Jenny Morten

LAFAYETTE, CA--(Marketwire - July 16, 2008) - California Bank of Commerce (OTCBB : CABC )
presents "Meeting and Passing," an exhibition of over 100 paintings and
ceramics by U.K. artists Geoff and Jenny Morten now on display at the Bank.
The exhibit runs July 7th through September 12, 2008 at the Bank's downtown
Lafayette location at 3595 Mt. Diablo Boulevard, Second Floor. The
California Bank of Commerce Arts Collaborative is an outreach effort to
promote professional artists and art education by mounting public
exhibitions in its corporate offices. Artwork is for sale and all proceeds
benefit the artists.
Both Geoff and Jenny have work in the permanent collections of renowned
museums, including the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Bosnian
National Gallery, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Romania. "Meeting and
Passing" is the first exhibit of their work in the San Francisco / East Bay
Area.
A graduate of the Royal College of Art, Geoff Morten has been a
professional artist for more than 30 years. His paintings and drawings
have been exhibited all over the world, including Chicago, Los Angeles,
London, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Brussels, and Moscow. Before re-locating to
the United States four years ago, Geoff Morten was on the faculty of the
University of Sunderland (School of Arts, Design & Media, Department of
Fine Art - Painting) and the University of Durham (School of Education,
Fine Art-Painting).
Ceramicist Jenny Morten is a graduate of the prestigious Central School of
Art and Design in London. Her works have been shown in galleries from
London to Sydney, Australia, and her ceramics have been commissioned by BBC
Television, the Tea Council of Great Britain, and Ikeda in Japan.
The Bank welcomes the public to stop in at any time during business hours
to view the exhibit.
