In the new book 'De Colored Section, author Walter Irving Ray, Jr., shares his life experiences, nostalgia, and thoughts, etc.

In 'De Colored Section, Ray expressed that his poetry will bring meaning to readers and establish a common bond of discussion between men and women. Having served his country in World War II and worked as a business manager in the 1970s, Ray has experienced life in its unlimited forms and countless situations which served as the foundation for 'De Colored Section. He further emphasized that the main themes include nostalgia, love, involvement, forgiveness, and optimism.

Ray attended West Virginia State College in Institute, W.V. '41-'43. He attended Howard University in Washington D.C. '46-'49, receiving his BS degree in '49. Ray worked 23 years for Anheuser-Busch Cus. Inc in Washington D.C. attaining the position of branch manager. Retiring in 1981, Ray was called on to be Vice President of Games Production (The company contracted to start the D.C. Lottery).

'De Colored Section should interest people who enjoy reading poetry and the author hopes that readers will find meaning not only from the book but also in their lives. The book will also appeal to people who feel lost or confused as well as others whose lives have been ruined. Having gone through the many stages and situations of life, Ray wrote his book deep from his heart.

About the Author

Walter Irving Ray, Jr. was born in Newburg, New York and grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. He attended West Virginia State College in Institute, W.V. '41-43, leaving to serve his country in '43-'46. He attended Howard University in Washington D.C. '46-'49, receiving his B.S. degree in '49. Ray worked for 23 years for Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc in Washington, D.C. attaining the position of Branch Manager. Retiring in 1981, Ray was called on to be V. Pres of Games Production Inc. (The Company to start the D.C. Lottery). The author now resides with his family in Silver Spring, Maryland. His family; wife Rosemary, daughter Rosalind is an attorney, and son Walter Irving Ray III who has a J.D. from H.U. Law School, are his pride and joy. Walter has had, what he considers, a blessed life and a story-book career. One of his most cherished memories was when Mayor Marion Barry, Jr., proclaimed Friday, April 10th, 1981, as Walter Irving Ray, Jr., day in Washington, D.C.
