burgbad AG: Preliminary figures for 1st half of 2008
- Substantial growth in sales and EBIT
- Net income for period negatively affected by non-recurring,
non-cash tax charge

Bad Fredeburg, 28 July 2008 Based on preliminary figures, burgbad AG
achieved strong sales growth both in Germany and abroad, amounting to 10.3%
in total, in the first half of 2008. Driven largely by the product
innovations and newly developed guest bathroom solutions presented at the
ISH 2007 sector fair, sales revenues rose from EUR 37.9 million to EUR 41.9
million. The company posted operating earnings (EBIT) of EUR 4.9 million
(H1 2007: EUR 3.7 million), equivalent to an increase of 32.2%. EBT also
showed significant growth, rising by 31.8% from EUR 3.7 million to EUR 4.8
million.
Due to the assignment of the majority shareholding in burgbad AG, it will
in future no longer be possible to utilise the tax loss carryovers
available at the German companies. The write-down of the corresponding
deferred tax assets has resulted in a non-recurring, non-cash tax charge of
EUR 1.6 million. All in all, net income for the period amounted to EUR 1.7
million, compared with EUR 2.5 million in the first half of 2007.
The Management Board is also confident with regard to the second half of
the year. Incoming orders rose by 12.6% during the period under report to
reach EUR 42.9 million (previous year: EUR 38.1 million).
Extensive information concerning the first half of 2008 and an outlook for
the financial year as a whole will be published in the interim report on 14
August.
