Sage Software Will Donate Products to Nonprofits Through Participation in TechSoup's Stock Service

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - August 5, 2008) - Sage Software, the North America business of The Sage Group plc, announced today it has joined the TechSoup nonprofit product donation service in order to donate its ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0), Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2009, and Sage Timberline Office - Estimating software products to qualifying North American nonprofit organizations. TechSoup is a program of CompuMentor, a San Francisco-based nonprofit technology assistance provider.

"TechSoup is often the first stop for nonprofits looking for software and advice," said Krista Endsley, senior vice president and general manager for Sage Software's Nonprofit Solutions. "For decades, we've helped thousands of nonprofits manage their operations with technology. It only makes sense for us to participate in the TechSoup Stock donation model, so we can help smaller organizations acquire much-needed resources for greater accountability, increased funds, and more time to focus on their missions."

TechSoup distributes donated and discounted technology products from 32 donor partners (as of July 2008) -- including leading technology companies, such as Adobe, Cisco, and Symantec -- to qualifying nonprofit organizations and public libraries.

"Sage Software's products are very popular with nonprofits," said Rebecca Masisak, co-CEO of TechSoup. "Our partnership with Sage Software will enable us to deliver an even more comprehensive range of tools to help the organizations we serve operate more effectively."

The number-one selling contact and customer management solution, and preferred choice of over 2.8 million registered users and over 43,000 additional corporate customers, ACT! by Sage helps organizations organize, access, and manage their customer or constituent information. A long-time favorite of accountants and growing nonprofit organizations, Peachtree by Sage is a comprehensive solution based on double-entry accounting principles, featuring screen-level security, audit trails and automatic accounting checks, so small businesses and nonprofit organizations get the accuracy and control they need to improve their results. Sage Timberline Office - Estimating software enables organizations to save time and limit risk by automating their estimating process. The product utilizes up-to-date pricing sources to provide nonprofits with accurate construction estimates backed by material, cost, and labor details, and using multiple takeoff methods to create detailed customizable estimates.

For more than 30 years, Sage Software has been helping nonprofit organizations further their missions and better serve constituents through the use of technology. Thousands of nonprofits manage their operations -- from fund accounting, fundraising, and donor management, to payment processing, human resources, health care, and payroll -- using easy-to-use, scalable, and customizable software and services from Sage Software.

TechSoup's Stock service charges recipient organizations a nominal administrative fee, a fraction of the market price for contact management and accounting software, in order to cover its costs to administer the program. This fee covers the costs of transaction, fulfillment, customer support, and outreach, as well as the verification and reporting of customer eligibility and the fostering of content and community to support the effective use of the technology products.
