All Eyes on Sustainability Gala

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - August 6, 2008) - The Alliance for Sustainable Colorado (www.sustainablecolorado.org) today announced they are accepting sponsor requests for their highly visible Sustainability Gala scheduled for 6:00 pm, Thursday, October 16 at the Sherman Events Center in Denver.

This year's Sustainability Gala will add a new and exciting element: Colorado Heroes of Sustainability awards. Heroes of Sustainability awards will be presented to individuals in four categories: nonprofit, business, government and academia. The attendance is expected to reach upwards of 300 people including Colorado's key sustainability advocates and civic, business and government leaders.

The Alliance for Sustainable Colorado is now accepting sponsorships for each of the four award categories -- each with award naming rights. Event sponsorship opportunities also are available at three levels: Visionary, Innovator and Leadership. For more information on sponsorship opportunities please contact Rick Blauvelt at rblauvelt@sustainablecolorado.org or by phone 303-572-1536 x1016.

The Sustainability Gala will include cocktails, live and silent auctions, and dinner prepared from local and organic foods. Local growers will be on hand to exhibit and discuss their products and processes. The beautiful Byzantine-themed ballroom at the Sherman Event Center features hardwood floors and is elaborately hand painted with a 360 degree wrap-around mezzanine balcony supported by gold pillars. The historic complex was built for the Colorado Shriners in 1906.

With its Heroes of Sustainability awards, the organization will recognize those in Colorado leading the way to a sustainable future. Residents of Colorado are encouraged to nominate people who show leadership and innovation in addressing any aspect of sustainability -- economic, social and/or environmental. The nomination deadline is August 15, 2008.

Send all nominations to awards@sustainablecolorado.org. You will receive an e-mail confirmation within 24 hours of the submitted nomination.
