Airspan Selected by Pacifictel of Ecuador to Supply WiMAX Solutions
Offering IP Services Over WiMAX to Enterprises Throughout Largest City

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwire - August 11, 2008) - Airspan Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ : AIRN ), a
leading provider of WiMAX-based broadband wireless access networks,
announced today that the Ecuadorian state-owned carrier, Pacifictel, has
selected Airspan's WiMAX base stations and related CPEs (customer premise
equipment), for a high-speed WiMAX network deployment.
With over 750,000 lines in service, Pacifictel plans to add high-speed
services to its product portfolio, due to growing demand. Located in
Guayaquil, the largest and most populous city in Ecuador, Pacifictel will
deploy Airspan's base stations throughout the city to provide businesses
with IP services, delivered through Airspan's flexible and easy-to-install
subscriber terminals.
