On August 15, 2008, we were informed pursuant to sec. 21 para. 1 of the
German Securities Trading Act ('WpHG') on behalf of the persons and
entities referred to below:

1. On August 13, 2008, the stake of Artisan Partners Limited Partnership,
Milwaukee, USA, in the voting rights in Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte
Holding AG, Kirkel, Germany, ISIN: DE000A0F6MD5, WKN: A0F6MD, exceeded the
threshold of 3 %. On that date, the voting rights represent 3.008 % (this
corresponds to 1,744,618 voting rights). These voting rights are
attributable to Artisan Partners Limited Partnership pursuant to sec. 22
para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6 WpHG.

2. On August 13, 2008, the stake of Artisan Investment Corporation,
Milwaukee, USA, in the voting rights in Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte
Holding AG, Kirkel, Germany, ISIN: DE000A0F6MD5, WKN: A0F6MD, exceeded the
threshold of 3 %. On that date, the voting rights represent 3.008 % (this
corresponds to 1,744,618 voting rights). These voting rights are
attributable to Artisan Investment Corporation pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1
sent. 1 no. 6 in connection with sent. 2 and 3 WpHG.

3. On August 13, 2008, the stake of ZFIC, Inc., Milwaukee, USA, in the
voting rights in Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG, Kirkel,
Germany, ISIN: DE000A0F6MD5, WKN: A0F6MD, exceeded the threshold of 3 %. On
that date, the voting rights represent 3.008 % (this corresponds to
1,744,618 voting rights). These voting rights are attributable to ZFIC,
Inc., pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6 in connection with sent. 2
and 3 WpHG.

4. On August 13, 2008, the stake of Mr. Andrew A. Ziegler, USA, in the
voting rights in Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG, Kirkel,
Germany, ISIN: DE000A0F6MD5, WKN: A0F6MD, exceeded the threshold of 3 %. On
that date, the voting rights represent 3.008 % (this corresponds to
1,744,618 voting rights). These voting rights are attributable to Mr.
Andrew A. Ziegler pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6 in connection
with sent. 2 and 3 WpHG.

5. On August 13, 2008, the stake of Ms. Carlene M. Ziegler, USA, in the
voting rights in Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG, Kirkel,
Germany, ISIN: DE000A0F6MD5, WKN: A0F6MD, exceeded the threshold of 3 %. On
that date, the voting rights represent 3.008 % (this corresponds to
1,744,618 voting rights). These voting rights are attributable to Ms.
Carlene M. Ziegler pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6 in connection
with sent. 2 and 3 WpHG.
