AAA Texas Contributes to Restoration of Historic Governor's Mansion
AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - September 9, 2008) - AAA Texas announced its donation of $25,000 to
the Governor's Mansion Restoration Fund (GMRF). The donation comes at a
critical time as plans for rebuilding the mansion get under way.
"AAA Texas wants to do its part to restore the mansion to its beauty and
grandeur that so many have come to love," says AAA Texas CEO, Tom McKernan.
"We are so very proud to play a role in restoring this historic landmark."
The Governor's Mansion suffered extensive damage after an arson on June 8,
2008. First Lady Anita Perry established the GMRF in July to assist in the
rebuilding process.
"Texas is grateful to AAA Texas for their generous donation to the
Governor's Mansion Restoration Fund," Mrs. Perry said. "Rick and I share
their dedication to seeing this historic structure rebuilt and restored."
AAA Texas recognizes the historic value of the governor's mansion and looks
forward to seeing the mansion rebuilt with integrity.
