- Today Cisco announced a new Web series called "Digital Cribs," which takes viewers inside the homes of Internet, entertainment and sports enthusiasts to reveal the interesting ways they are using consumer technology.
- The first three episodes available online offer an inside look at the homes of NBA basketball star Shane Battier of the Houston Rockets, NonSociety video blogger Meghan Asha and video artist Lincoln Schatz.
- Each three-minute episode of "Digital Cribs" explores the stars' connected-life experiences at home and throughout their day-to-day activities. The "Digital Cribs" Web site also includes several extra episodes as well as a chance for visitors to interact with the enthusiasts' "cribs" and get more details on specific experiences.
- In addition, Cisco is putting the video camera in the hands of aspiring filmmakers across the globe for a chance to win cash and to have their episodes featured on the "Digital Cribs" Web site.
- Beginning on September 9, Filmaka, a global digital entertainment studio and creative community for aspiring filmmakers, will create nonfiction short films featuring "digital cribs" and depicting how people from all walks of life use consumer technology in new and exciting ways.
- The "Digital Cribs" series aims to demystify home technology and inspire conversations about how consumer technology contributes to a digitally-enhanced lifestyle. New webisodes will be released every three months throughout the year.
