El Capitan Canyon Announces Fall Getaways

Girlfriends and Couples Receive Special Package Offers

SANTA BARBARA, CA--(Marketwire - September 10, 2008) - El Capitan Canyon, nature lodging just north of Santa Barbara on the Pacific coast, announces two autumn getaway packages for women and couples to enjoy the warm California Coast fall season from the deck of a contemporary rustic cabin or classic safari tent.

El Capitan Canyon's Girlfriend Getaways package is for a two-night stay in a Canyon Bunk or Canyon Double Cabin. These cabins accommodate four people in four bunk beds or two double beds, respectively, and are very popular with women traveling together to celebrate a special occasion or simple friendship. The package features a BBQ kit for four that includes salmon, salad, rice/grilled vegetables, s'mores and a bottle of Happy Camper wine; four El Capitan Canyon souvenir wine glasses; and four 55-minute Canyon Classic massages at the Canyon's newly opened Canyon Spa.

The Girlfriend Getaways package costs $975 for the Canyon Bunk Cabin or $1095 for the Canyon Double Cabin, plus tax and gratuity. Pricing is based on four guests staying two nights. The package is offered Sunday-Thursday, from Sept. 1 through Dec. 30, 2008, is subject to availability and excludes holidays.

For couples interested in a visit to Santa Barbara country during the grape crush, El Capitan Canyon's second fall package, Canyon to Wine Country, is a two-night stay in a Creekside King Cabin for $525. Creekside King Cabins are ideal for couples and feature a quaint gas fireplace and a Jacuzzi-style bathtub.

The Canyon to Wine Country package begins at arrival with a bottle of Happy Camper, a California wine produced and bottled with a camping frame of mind. The package also includes a bundle of firewood and a s'mores kit to enjoy while snuggled around the fire pit on cooler nights. The front desk can assist guests in planning a day trip to nearby vineyards. Guests will receive two keepsake wine glasses. This package is offered Sunday-Thursday, Sept. 1 through Nov. 20, 2008, subject to availability. Package price is for double occupancy and does not include taxes.

Guests heading to El Capitan Canyon this fall will enjoy a calmer Canyon compared to the busy family summer season. Couples can take a walk amidst the oaks and sycamores or wade along the nearby Pacific shores. Canyon staff can plan an array of day trips, such as horseback riding, golf, ocean kayaking, Monarch butterfly park tours, whale watching and tours of Santa Barbara. Guests are welcome to participate in any of the complimentary activities, including hiking the expansive trail system adjacent to the Canyon, ocean-side rides on beach cruiser bikes and stargazing. Through October, the Canyon hosts a Saturday night concert and barbecue series that attracts Canyon guests and locals alike.

Accommodations at the Canyon include cedar cabins and safari tents, which provide upscale surroundings finished in warm earth tones and offer a variety of sleeping configurations. Both the cabins and tents are furnished with cozy duvets, western-style blankets, casual furniture, linens and plush towels along with fire pits and picnic tables. Cabins have full bathrooms and kitchenettes and some have Jacuzzi tubs and gas fireplaces. Spacious safari tents feature electric lighting, screened windows and doors with zip-down flaps. Chic washroom facilities are conveniently accommodated in nearby buildings.
