NASCAR Angels to Film Reality TV Show in Kansas City With Overland Park CARSTAR & Local Family

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwire - September 15, 2008) - Katy Fuller of Kansas City, a teenager who
suffers from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a form of
autism, inspired "NASCAR Angels" to cruise into Kansas City to film an
episode for their reality TV show to help a deserving family in need of a
transportation fix.
The crew, which includes Rusty Wallace, former NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion
and current ABC/ESPN broadcaster, and Shannon Wiseman, NASCAR.COM talent,
will team up with CARSTAR Collision Centers, headquartered in Overland
Park, and others to restore the family's car. The updated 1996 Grand
Marquis will debut Wednesday, September 17 at 4:30 p.m. at Helping Hands
Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center.
The Fuller's vehicle has more than 130,000 miles and is used for
transporting family members to volunteer events and Katy's therapeutic
horseback riding lessons. So far, Katy's only successful response to
treatment has been riding horses, allowing her to regain control over her
body when conventional therapies failed.
CARSTAR's involvement with charities has created money for organizations
such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation by touring its Super'Stang across the
U.S., making more than 75 appearances from Seattle to Miami and raising
more than $200,000. According to Ms. Lynn Dewey, general manager of
CARSTAR Metcalf, this is just one way in which the CARSTAR family
participates in charities and why the Fuller family was a great candidate
for CARSTAR's help. "CARSTAR Metcalf is thrilled to be a part of restoring
the Fuller family car and hope their transportation woes are far, far
behind them," said Dewey. Dewey, who is also a horseback riding
aficionado, is the general manager of the only corporately owned CARSTAR.
"NASCAR Angels," NASCAR's first nationally syndicated television show,
hosted by Rusty Wallace and Shannon Wiseman, is dedicated to sharing the
stories of inspiring individuals across the country.
