Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank hf. has today enlisted its Copenhagen branch in the Danish deposit guarantee scheme "Det Private Beredskab". Det Private Beredskab is a private fund with the objective, among other things, to administer a temporary guarantee from the Danish state issued on the 6 October 2008 in order to secure deposits and simple creditors in the member banks. The temporary guarantee from the Danish state runs for two years and guarantees deposits and simple creditors in the member banks in case of a member bank's bankruptcy. The guarantee applies if the losses are not already covered by the existing Danish Guarantee Fund for Depositors and Investors (Indskydergarantifonden) or other similar arrangements.
